Dutty Moonshine Big Band

Garden · Saturdy

The name Dutty Moonshine started in 2010 and originally was a DJ outfit made of Michael Rack and Alex Furley. An act that’s toured 4 continents and played countless shows.
In 2015 the duet split amicably and rather than go solo Mike started up a big band instead, an outfit designed to play the Dutty Moonshine sound live.

The band have been no stranger to big main stages from the get go and they’ve gone from success to success to a point they’ve been headlining medium sized festivals since 2018 and playing penultimate sets at the larger ones.

Up until 2019 they had been fully independent and they were discovered by Universal at Glastonbury, signed later that year whilst also retaining full control of what they want to do. In 2020 they decided to take on the pop stars of the world by attempting to get an official Top 40 album.

Even though the pandemic hit and cancelled their 20 date promotional headline tour they still managed to pull off an official Top 40 album in lockdown, coming in at number 40.  In other charts like the iTunes chart they were scrapping with Lady Gaga and Run The Jewels over the top 3 positions. But back in the official charts they managed to also secure a number one Dance album.
