Jordan Edwards-Wilks, better known by his stage name Jords, is a Croydon songwriter who has earned his stripes being an effortless and consistent multi-talent; combining clever lyrics with raw emotion and thought-provoking concepts. Jords has presented his supporters with a hybrid of smooth hip-hop with a mixture of R&B and poetry, making him a breath of fresh air to current sounds. His 2018 EP, ‘After the Ends’ charted at number 16 in the hip-hop charts after selling out a headline show at Notting Hill Arts Club with support from R&B songstress Jaz Karis. His ability to captivate an audience with his impressive wordplay has allowed Jords to work with many esteemed artists (Bridget Kelly, Randy Valentine, Sonna Rele, Bonkaz, Maxi Priest, Marcella and more) as a rapper, singer, songwriter and producer steadily building a portfolio of inspiring, compelling music. The first single of 2019, ‘Glide’, reached new heights of success with a premiere on Rob Bruce’s ‘Homegrown’ show on Capital Xtra during Jay Dolce’s mix. Shortly followed by support from the BBC Introducing platform on BBC Radio 1xtra making Track of the Week two weeks running, with support from Annie Mac, DJ Target, Mistajam, Mim Shaikh, Yasmin Evans, Twin B and breakfast presenter Dotty. DJ Target most recently premiered Jords latest single, ‘Swing’. Jords has performed with the likes of Sofar Sounds, Mahogony Sessions on YouTube and ASOS for private acoustic sessions. He has also helped to launch a label with mental health charity ‘Key Changes’ who help rehabilitate people who have left mental health facilities by using music as a creative outlet and form of therapy. Most recently, Jords opened up the main stage at the Ends Festival.
